It proved to be a season to remember on the diamonds for the Oakville High School baseball and softball teams, the former reaching the district semifinals and the latter breaking a 53-game losing streak.
It culminated on Monday where three Acorns were named to the Class 1B Coastal/Columbia Valley all-league teams.
Daniel and Gio Rodas were the two all-league honorees for baseball while Viviana Cruz was the Acorns lone member for softball. The Rodas brothers each had an earned run average under 2.35 and combined for 23 RBIs. Cruz hit .513 and was a perfect 17-of-17 in stolen bases.
Cooper Carlson of Wahkiakum and Jacob Lindstrom from Naselle were Co-MVPs for baseball while Wahkiakum’s Amy Horman earned MVP honors in softball.
