Oakville records season-high in runs

Despite losing 30-10 in a loss to Wahkiakum on Monday night, the Acorns took a step forward in just their third game of the season by hitting the double digit mark for the first time in at least two seasons.

Most of the runs were manufactured by walks. Of the 16 at-bats Oakville (0-3) registered, half of them were walks. The bottom of its lineup – Riyah Filitaula, Lillyannah Zilsdorf and Ui’lani Siufanua – combined for six runs batted in and crossed home plate once each.

Zilsdorf threw a staggering 211 pitches and finished with seven strikeouts. The Acorns will face Ocosta for the second time this spring on Friday afternoon at home.
