After combing through roughly 312 acres in the Oakville area searching for any sign of missing 5-year-old Oakley Carlson, search crews ended their search Monday morning.

“If there’s burn piles, we’re going through the burn piles. If there’s any fresh dirt, we're looking in fresh dirt, any crawl spaces, enclosed spaces. We’re checking everything we can possibly do,” Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Brad Johansson told KIRO 7 News on Monday.

Crews found no sign of Carlson, but investigators are continuing to work hard on the case, Johansson told KIRO 7 News.

Detectives continue to seek information from anyone who may have seen Oakley Carlson, who the sheriff’s office says hasn’t been seen alive since Jan. 27, 2021. The girl’s parent’s claim to have last seen her at the end of November.

Oakley's parents and the primary persons of interest in her disappearance, Jordan Bowers and Andrew Carlson, remained in custody at the Grays Harbor County Jail over the weekend. They have each been charged with second-degree abandonment of a dependent person for allegedly neglecting to give their 6-year-old daughter doctor-prescribed medication for 15 months. Both are scheduled for preliminary appearance hearings in Grays Harbor County District Court on Dec. 30.

Anyone with information that may be helpful in the case is advised to contact detectives by calling the sheriff’s office’s non-emergency number at 360-533-8765 or contacting Detective Sgt. Paul Logan at 360-964-1729 or sodetectives@co.grays-harbor.wa.us.
