Rural Lewis County Indivisibles will host the “No Kings 3” protest from 1 to 3 p.m. on March 28 at George Washington Park in Centralia with support from Rooted in Lewis County.
Organizers describe the planned demonstration, which is one of many scheduled across the country, as a peaceful sign-waving event with family fun and local community entertainment.
In addition to the sign-waving, the protest will include music from DJ Parker, a performance by Lewis County Singing Resistance, a rally display and sign contest, a face painting booth, a “solidarity rally ball,” dancing, sidewalk chalk and various speakers.
Music and contest registration begin at 12:30 p.m.
Contest displays may include signs, costumes, makeup and inflatables.
Categories include best overall, best message and most creative, with winners chosen by voters.
There are three equal-value prizes, one for each category, according to a news release. Prizes are provided by Resist Reign. Contestants may win only one category. Registration is limited to the first 25 contestants who sign up.
Contestants will show off their displays on the catwalk to the DJ tunes around 1:20 p.m.
