No injuries were reported after the West Thurston Fire Authority responded to a house fire in the Gate area of Rochester on Friday, Aug. 8, according to a news release from the fire authority.
Firefighters were dispatched to the blaze at about 4:30 p.m. Friday.
“Upon arrival, crews found a fully involved structure with heavy flames showing,” the fire authority stated. “Firefighters initiated a defensive attack to bring the fire under control and prevent further spread. West Thurston Fire, along with multiple mutual aid agencies, worked diligently to protect surrounding property and contain the blaze.”
No one was inside the residence at the time of the fire.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
