In the three innings the Tigers put a run on the board, they got the leadoff hitter on base and it got the juices flowing en route to a 15-1, five-inning victory over the Loggers on Monday night in a non-league game.

Tied at one run each entering the bottom of the third, Napavine (1-0) blew the game open with six runs that featured only one ball leaving the infield. It capitalized on four walks and three errors. In the fourth, it was eight runs on five walks, three hits and two errors.

Hannah Fay and Dakota Lyons combined for nine strikeouts in the circle. Offensively, Hannah and Clara Fay plus Makayla Brett each drove in two runs. Taylen Evander and Lyla Kirkpatrick recorded two stolen bases apiece.

“If you haven't seen live pitching, you haven't seen live pitching, I knew that we would make that adjustment,” Tigers head coach Josh Fay said. “Once we made those adjustments, we looked okay. I’ll definitely take it for our first outing.”

The lone hit from Onalaska was by Greta Oien. Napavine travels on Tuesday to take on District 4 rival Raymond/South Bend while Onalaska hosts Mossyrock in a non-league game on Thursday.
