Napavine routs Toutle Lake to remain unbeaten

Napavine picked up its sixth straight win to open the season on Monday, defeating Toutle Lake 14-4 in Toutle.

The Tigers built a 4-1 lead in the first three innings, then put up four in the fourth to break the game open. They tacked on an insurance run in the sixth and added five more in the seventh to put the game out of reach.

Layton Griffith threw the first five innings, allowing five hits and a pair of earned runs while walking two and striking out five, while Tommy Deebach allowed one hit and two runs (one earned) while walking two and striking out three in two innings of relief.

Grady Wilson hit a pair of doubles and drove in two runs at the plate, while Hudson Chambers added a double and three RBIs of his own. Eric Bullock also drove in two runs as part of his two-hit day, and Beckett Landram picked up an RBI while going 3 for 4 at the dish.

Napavine (6-0) will look to make it seven in a row on Wednesday, when it hosts Toutle Lake in the series finale.
