The Napavine Tigers held off the Forks Spartans 20-15 in a nail-biter in Forks Thursday night.
After Napavine took a 20-9 lead in the fourth, Forks scored a touchdown but could not inch closer. With the victory, the Tigers (5-4, 4-1 Central 2B League) win their fourth straight after a 3-4 start to the season.
Dean Hamilton and Caleb Von Pressentin combined for 353 rushing yards and three touchdowns, with Hamilton taking the team lead with 185 yards.
“The kids gutted one out. Dean had a great game for us, and Caleb had another good night,” Napavine head coach Josh Fay said. “We will need to come ready next week or we will be done. We have it in us to make a little run but we have to be better than we were tonight. Forks made things hard for us when we weren’t doing it ourselves.”
Napavine will host Toutle Lake (5-4, 2-3 C2BL) in a crossover next week.
