The Washington State Football Coaches Association announced its All-State football teams for the 2023 season Monday, taking the mantle upon itself for the first time.

Previously, the Associated Press compiled all-state teams, but hadn’t done so since the 2019 season.

In total, 21 local players made the cut across the 1B, 2B, and 2A classifications. Twelve of those came from 2B, where Napavine quarterback Ashton Demarest took home Offensive Player of the Year honors.

The Tigers and Onalaska both earned five honorees at the 2B level, sharing the lead for area schools with Tumwater, who had five at 2A.
