Napavine High School’s career and technical education (CTE) program will host the February Business After Hours event from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19, the Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce has announced.

The community is invited to attend the free networking event to learn about current CTE offerings, meet participating students and explore how local businesses can support worksite learning and the development of the future workforce.

The event will be held at 404 Fourth Ave. NE, Napavine.

Napavine High School’s CTE programs provide hands-on career exploration in fields including culinary arts, welding, construction, graphic design and commercial art, the release stated. Culinary students will prepare and serve refreshments for the evening.

“We are proud to showcase our CTE program and our students,” said David Rutherford, Napavine CTE director. “Guests will have the opportunity to tour our facilities, including the shop, culinary kitchen, commercial art studio, computer programming classroom and science lab.”

Centralia College will also be on site with its mobile simulator lab, offering interactive demonstrations that introduce students and visitors to careers in welding and logging.
