Napavine Funtime Festival’s Christmas Parade will take to the streets Saturday evening

The Napavine Funtime Festival will sponsor the annual Christmas Parade in Napavine on Saturday, Dec. 2, at 4 p.m., according to an email from event organizers.

This is the parade’s 41st year, the email said, and is a way for the “hometown folks to usher in Christmas.”

There are usually 20-plus entries, with no limit to the number of floats that can participate. The parade route runs from the city park to the “Welcome to Napavine” sign. After the parade, Lewis County Fire District 5 will host Santa and courtesy coffee, cookies and hot chocolate from the Napavine Starbucks.

As the Napavine football team is set to compete in the 2B State Championship on Saturday at 11 a.m. in Seattle, event organizers hope the team will arrive home just in time for a “huge celebration.”

“At the end of the parade, the lights will be lit on the display in the center of town, but, because of a fire which burned a lot of the displays last year, it may be a little smaller than usual,” the Napavine Funtime Festival group wrote in an email.

Floats should line up at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday and can sign up in the line or by calling 360-520-4961.

“This will be a real community celebration and we hope that our football team will return home with the State Championship trophy!” the email said.
