Napavine falls to Northwest Christian in quarterfinals

Napavine’s best soccer season in over a decade came to an end on Saturday in Mead, as the Tigers lost 3-0 to No. 4 Northwest Christian (Colbert) in a 2B State Quarterfinal.

The Crusaders led 2-0 at halftime, and they added a third in the second half to ice it.

The loss snapped Napavine’s (16-3) 16-game winning streak, and it’s the first time that the Tigers have been shutout since Sept. 12.

“Despite the loss, it was a great season for the girls,” Napavine coach John Bates said before shouting out the senior class: Ellie Gilbert, Haley Gallagher, and Grace Pancake.

“They will be missed,” Bates said.
