The Tigers did the simple things on Wednesday night with seven hits – all singles – and drew nine walks to keep the train rolling en route to a 15-0, five-inning win over the Timberwolves in White Pass.
In the first three games of the season, Napavine (3-0, 3-0 C2BL) has yet to allow a run. The trio of Layton Griffith, Hudson Chambers and Beckett Landram combined for 11 strikeouts and allowed just one hit.
Seven runs in the top of the first allowed the Tigers to control the contest early. Their first four batters reached and they batted around in the frame. Five more runs came in the third, taking advantage of 11 MWP errors.
Tommy Deebach drove in three runs while Chambers and Grady Wilson each had two RBIs. Napavine’s top three hitters crossed home plate eight times. For the Timberwolves (0-3, 0-3), Jake Flathers had the lone hit.
The two league foes will meet for the second time on Friday in Napavine.
