Cameron Nakano dazzled in a C2BL contest against Toledo, striking out nine in a complete game shutout to lead Adna High School’s baseball team to a 4-0 triumph on Monday night in Toledo.

Nakano allowed just four hits and danced around three walks to limit the Riverhawks at the plate. The left-hander came into the night with an earned run average under 1.30.

Tristan Percival belted a two-run home run in the top of the sixth to balloon a 1-0 lead to 3-0. The Pirates added an insurance run in the seventh on an RBI single from Tallon Guerrero and Nakano shut the door in the bottom half.

Adna kicked the contest off with a run-scoring base hit off the bat of Reid Caviness in the second. Toledo’s Rogan Stanley had two hits and a stolen base offensively, then on the mound went six-plus innings with eight strikeouts.

Toledo and Adna will meet again on Tuesday in the second game of its two-game league slate. The Pirates will face Morton-White Pass this weekend while the Riverhawks takes on Kalama.
