Trailing 16-0 in the first quarter, the Rainier High School boys basketball team dusted themselves off and proceeded to rally and clip Eatonville 67-59 on the road on Monday night.
After losing four in a row, the Mountaineers (5-4) have won two straight. Ben Sheaffer and Nehemiah Linson each totaled 22 points while Ryder Martin added eight. Rainier will return to C2BL play on Friday versus Winlock.
“We finally found our rhythm by cranking up our intensity on the defensive end and attacking the basket on offense,” Mountaineers head coach Ben Sheaffer said. “We have things to clean up, but this group is resilient and stays composed regardless of the score on the scoreboard.”
