Mountaineers hold off Riverhawks in five

The Rainier volleyball team had to hold off a Toledo rally, but the Mountaineers were able to leave Toledo with a 25-12, 25-21, 22-25, 20-25, 15-11 victory on Thursday.

Allyson Ooms led Rainier with 26 digs, 23 kills, three blocks, and an ace, while Anika Plowman tallied a whopping 16 blocks, 12 kills, seven digs, and two aces without committing a service error.

Lexi Beckman also had a stellar night at the net, tallying 12 kills and eight blocks, while Ellie Pringle added 10 digs and eight kills. 

Courtney Eckroth finished with 22 assists, 10 digs, and an ace, Katelyn Eckroth added 21 assists and six digs, and Liberty Adair logged 21 digs and three aces without a service error.

Ellie Fallon led the Riverhawks with 21 kills and 12 digs on a .298 hit efficiency percentage, while Taysia Miller added 29 digs, seven kills, and four aces while posting a percentage of .300.

Sidney Kruger recorded 11 digs defensively, and Lexi Young delivered six aces from the line.

Both teams will hit the road on Tuesday, when Rainier (8-3, 2-1 C2BL) heads to Toutle and Toledo (10-2, 1-2 C2BL) makes the trip to Adna.
