Cathlamet proved to be a tough place to play for the Rainier boys basketball team on Tuesday, as the Mountaineers fell to Wahkiakum 63-44.
The Mountaineers (12-7, 7-5 were within striking distance going into the fourth, trailing by eight, but the Mules broke the game open in the final frame.
Wahkiakum outscored Rainier 23-12 in the fourth, extending the gap to cruise to victory.
Johnny Boesch led the Mountaineers with 15 points, while Jake Meldrum added 11. Jimmy Meldrum and Jared Sprouffske each added seven.
Rainier will wrap up the regular season with a trip to Toledo on Thursday.
