Mountaineers Dominate Cardinals On Senior Night

Rainier had no struggle as they won against Winlock 84-23 at home on senior night Wednesday. The Mountaineers were led by Ian Sprouffske with 28 points while Jake Meldrum chipped in with 15.

“Tonight was a really great night for our seniors who have represented our community and program so well,” Rainier coach Ben Sheaffer said. “The turnout is reflective of how proud Rainier is of this group of kids.

“Everyone was able to contribute and our eight seniors should be extremely proud of their performance. Senior Brandon Diehl scored his first varsity basket.”

This win rounded out Rainier’s regular season as they wait for district seeding.

Winlock, which ends its season winless, was led by Chase Scofield and Isaac Ramirez’ eight points each.
