Kristi Leann Enick’s Tuesday appearance in Lewis County Superior Court was brief, but it included strong words from Judge Joely Yeager, who described the woman's alleged crimes as "appalling."
Enick, 42, of Tacoma, is accused of attempting to smuggle marijuana to her son at the Green Hill School juvenile detention center in Chehalis on Sept. 11, 2025.
“I can’t tell you the efforts that are made to try and keep drugs out of the facility,” Yeager told Enick as she appeared out of custody for her initial court hearing.
Yeager was alluding to the ongoing issues of drug use, violence and other crimes blamed on the facility being well over capacity in recent years.
Enick is charged with one count of delivery of marijuana, punishable by up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine, and second-degree introducing contraband, a class C felony punishable by five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
An affidavit of probable cause filed by the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office details the allegations against Enick.
“Kristi Enick was visiting her son, Vincent Bradley, an inmate at the school,” court documents state. “Enick was observed on video passing a substance to her son, Bradley. Bradley refused to provide the substance to staff. However, it was eventually recovered. Based upon training, experience and the appearance and odor of the substance, law enforcement believes the substance is marijuana. Lab results are pending. “
Vincent Lee Bradley III, 19, has also been charged in the case. He also made his initial appearance in Lewis County Superior Court on Tuesday, appearing via video feed from Green Hill School where he remains in custody. He has been charged with possession of a controlled substance while in a county or local correctional facility, a class C felony punishable by up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine, and tampering with physical evidence, punishable by up to 364 days in prison and a $5,000 fine.
Due to his current convictions, Bradley III isn’t expected to be released from custody until 2041. His next hearing for the most recent case was set for Jan. 15.
Enick was released without bail on Tuesday, but she is barred from being on Green Hill School property, though she can still communicate with her son. She has no prior criminal history.
