The Mossyrock volleyball team’s nine-game winning streak came to an end on Monday, as the Vikings fell in four sets to Toutle Lake 25-20, 25-23, 23-25, 25-14.

Of the Vikings (10-3) three losses this season, two of them have come against the Ducks.

Mossyrock kept it close in the first two sets, but wasn’t able to come away with either. They were, however, able to force a fourth set, but that was Toutle Lake’s best set of the night.

Mossyrock’s strength was from the service line, where as a team, they hit on 90 percent of their serves and had 17 aces. Adyson Barrows led the way with seven aces.

Erin Cournyer added another impressive performance to an already excellent season, collecting 10 assists, eight kills, seven digs and two blocks. Chesney Schultz was the only other Viking to tally a block, and she led the team with three.

Renzy Marshall and Tayloe Schwartz added eight digs each, and Abbie Lovan had six of her own.

The Vikings will have the chance to bounce back on Thursday, when they’ll host Pe Ell at 7 p.m.
