With its season on the line on Saturday, the Mossyrock boys basketball team was in complete control against Toutle Lake from start to finish.

The Vikings came out swinging and never looked back, cruising to a 64-38 win that keeps them alive in the 2B District 4 Tournament.

“We played 32 minutes of great ball today,” Mossyrock interim coach Kelly Ross said. “Our energy defensively set the tone for how this game was going to go. It was awesome to see our guys rise to the occasion.”

Mossyrock led by 11 after one, and continued to build on its lead over the next two quarters. Easton Kolb was a big reason why, scoring 16 of his game-high 23 points in the third.

“Easton controlled every aspect of the game, and our guys fed off of him,” Ross said. “I can’t say enough about how he played today.”

Ethan Johnson added 10 points, while Mason Atter and Shaun Fry scored eight apiece. Xavier Gomez scored six, and Colby Cournyer added five.

The Vikings (6-14) still need two more elimination game wins to qualify for state, starting with a matchup against Forks on Wednesday in Castle Rock.
