Mossyrock City Councilor Beatrice Minnear dies at 81

The Mossyrock City Council now has a vacant position after one of its councilors died on Saturday, March 22, according to a post on the City of Mossyrock’s official Facebook page.

“The City of Mossyrock is saddened to announce the loss of one of our city council members, Beatrice Minnear. Beatrice had a passion for her community and the City of Mossyrock. She will be heavily missed. Our condolences go with her family,” the city stated in the post.

Minnear, 81, was originally born in Seattle. After a 10-year career in the FBI, she stepped away to focus on raising her sons. The family lived in Oregon before Minnear eventually moved to Mossyrock in 2017, according to her obituary.



She was elected to the Mossyrock City Council Position 2 seat in 2019 and reelected in 2023. She also volunteered for the police department.

While details have yet to be finalized, City of Mossyrock officials will soon announce requirements and the procedure for selecting the next councilor to serve on the Position 2 seat.
