Morton Loggers Jubilee returns: The 83rd edition of ‘grandaddy of all logging shows’ begins Aug. 6

Posted

The 83rd edition of the annual Morton Loggers Jubilee kicks off on Thursday, Aug. 6.

The beloved East Lewis County festival runs through the weekend, with various logging competitions such as axe throwing, birling and speed climbing, along with the famous bed and lawnmower races and more returning.

Logging athletes will also compete in single and double bucking, stock and hot saw, Jack n’ Jill bucking, tree topping, obstacle pole bucking, springboard chopping, choker setting and vertical and horizontal chopping, with logging show competition set to start Saturday.

Also known as the “grandaddy of all logging shows,” the Morton Loggers Jubilee this year also features a 10K run, a breakfast and the annual parade — which this year is themed “Celebrating 250 years of America.”

For attendees wanting to get their Jubilee merchandise ahead of the event, shirts and sweaters for the 83rd annual Morton Loggers Jubilee are already on sale at the Morton Pharmacy, located at 100 Westlake Ave. in Morton.

Additionally, dozens of vendors and artisans will also be on hand throughout the weekend for the Jubilee Flea Market held in the field south of the Morton Country Market, located at 461 Second St. in Morton.

The lawnmower races and logging show will be held in the Jubilee Arena, located at 451 Knittles Way in Morton.
