Already down a couple players due to sickness and one of its top attackers injured in the first half, the Onalaska High School boys soccer team fell to Stevenson 7-0 in a Class 1A Trico league contest.

The Bulldogs found the back of the net within the first five minutes and never looked back. By the time the second half came around, it was 10-on-9. Loggers (0-3, 0-3 Trico) goalkeeper Chris James recorded 14 saves on the night.

Onalaska will hit the road on Wednesday to take on Fort Vancouver.

“This one hurt a little,” Loggers head coach Luis Magana said. “We definitely had the team to compete with them, but everything that could go wrong, went wrong today. The odds were not in our favor.”

Knights strike early, often to upend United

Five goals in the first half was all King’s Way Christian needed to stay unbeaten in the Class 1A Trico league and pick up an 8-0 win over Toledo/Winlock United.

In two league losses, United (3-2, 2-2 Trico) has been outscored 15-1 and its two-match win streak came to a close. United returns to the pitch on Wednesday night at home against La Center.
