Authorities say a truck pulled from the Cowlitz River near Gerhart Gardens Park over the weekend belonged to a man whose family is looking for him.
Undersheriff Troy Brightbill, of the Cowlitz County Sheriff's Office, told The Daily News the vehicle belongs to Thomas Edward Kennedy, 55.
Kennedy's family says he is alive, but they don't know his exact location.
The Cowlitz County Dive Rescue posted on their Facebook page at 3:09 p.m., Saturday, that they helped tow the truck out of the water.
A friend of Thomas Edward Kennedy told authorities they spoke after he unintentionally rolled his vehicle into the river, then walked to shore, Brightbill said.
A family member has been attempting to locate him, he added, even handing out flyers, but declined to enter Thomas Edward Kennedy as a missing person at this time, according to Brightbill.
His daughter Cassandra Davenport said the family hasn't filed a police report because they believe her father is “alive and well."
Brightbill said Kennedy is known to go for extended periods without communicating with anyone he knows.
Davenport said there have been sightings of him in the Chehalis and Centralia areas.
A deputy is attempting to confirm reported sightings, Brightbill added.
Kennedy's other daughter Marlena Jean Kennedy, 38, of Longview, told The Daily News that her cousin, who lives in Olympia, said her father was at a nearby homeless shelter, which he typically frequents, on Saturday.
When she saw online photos of the truck being pulled from the river, she knew it was her father's because of how the pallets were strapped down.
The last time she saw her father was before Christmas, while her son hasn’t heard from him since November, and his girlfriend hasn’t been able to contact him since Jan. 6, Marlena Jean Kennedy said.
