A toddler was found dead in Jackson County on Wednesday morning after being reported missing, officials said.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that deputies were called to the 9900 block of Blackwell Road in rural Central Point around 4:30 a.m. because a 2-year-old had gone missing.
Deputies scoured the area, and at around 5:40 a.m. they found the child’s body, authorities said.
Officials didn’t release the 2-year-old’s name or provide the circumstances of the child going missing. A cause of death has not been officially established. The sheriff’s office’s Criminal Investigations Division and the multi-agency Major Assault and Death Investigation Unit are investigating.
