Miss Lewis County Scholarship Program set for Saturday

Miss Lewis County 2023 Myah O’Neill will pass on the crown and the first ever Miss Teen Lewis County will be named during the annual Miss Lewis County Scholarship Program night on Saturday, March 9. 

The in-person event at the Corbet Theater has been sold out for weeks, but the program will publish a link on its Facebook page later this week for viewers to watch a livestream. 

The program begins at 7 p.m. 

This year’s Miss Lewis County contestants, in alphabetical order, are: 

  • Abbigail Akin: a senior at Rochester High School and daughter of Matt and Francie Ishler. 

She is sponsored by Julia Gaul, financial advisor with Edward Jones.

  • Amanda Brossard: a freshman at Centralia College and daughter of  Randy and Cheryl Brossard. She is sponsored by Janke Trucking Inc. and the Southwest Washington Dance Center.
  • Taylor Derscheid: a 23-year-old from Centralia and daughter of Randy and Jamie Stokes. 

She is sponsored by Crazy M Stump Busters.

  • Sydni Galligher: a senior at Centralia College and daughter of Nathan and Samantha Ballard.

She is sponsored by Hamilton Appraisals.

  • Katelynn Guenther: a sophomore at Centralia College and daughter of Chris and Tiffany Guenther. She is sponsored by Jerry and Debbie Graham.
  • Madeline Scalici: a senior at W.F. West High School and daughter of Anthony and Jennifer Scalici. She is sponsored by Lyndsay Walker Real Estate with Realty One Group Bold.

The Miss Teen Lewis County contestants, in alphabetical order, are: 

  • Lily Bailey: a seventh grader at Chehalis Middle School and daughter of Michael and Dawn Bailey. She is sponsored by the Southwest Washington Dance Center.
  • Haiden Bartel: a freshman at W.F. West High School and daughter of Tony and Tamera Bartel. 

She is sponsored by Kim and Mark Witham of Olympic Sotheby's International Realty. 

  • Capri O'Neill: a freshman at W.F. West High School and daughter of Michael and Amanda O'Neill. She is sponsored by Lapidary Artisans.
  • Ruby Stanton: a sophomore at W.F. West High School and daughter or Thomas and Carrina Stanton. She is sponsored by Book N Brush. 
  • Hailey Sturdevant: a sophomore at W.F. West High School and daughter of Jeremy Sturdevant and Lenni Ball. She is sponsored by Lewis County Coffee.
