Folk music fans are invited to The Juice Box Public House on Saturday, Oct. 21, for a concert featuring the bluegrass sounds of the Minnesota-based Pert Near Sandstone band.

Located at 216 S. Tower Ave. in downtown Centralia, the doors for the show open at 7 p.m. and the concert begins at 8, with tickets available at the door for $15 or online in advance for $12 at https://tinyurl.com/2ktsb7uj.

The concert will feature songs from Pert Near Sandstone’s eighth and newest album called Waiting Days.

“Pert Near Sandstone delivers another album of all original songs, recorded over the harshest months of a midwestern winter … As longtime stewards of the modern stringband revival, their studio recordings have continuously pulled the genre toward a more contemporary perspective, meditating on the present and rich with reference,” stated an excerpt from the album’s description. “This isn’t music reaching for the banality of pop hits, instead they provide fresh air for blades of new grass to grow in.”
