Lewis County Fire District 9, also known as Mineral Fire and Rescue, received a new LIFEPAK 12 cardiac monitor and defibrillator for its aid truck via a donation by the Pend Oreille County Fire District, located in Eastern Washington.

The LIFEPACK 12 is a trusted and vital piece of equipment used by emergency medical services nationwide to monitor heart rhythms, provide 12-lead electrocardiograms and deliver defibrillation to patients in cardiac distress.

“This donation directly improves the level of pre-hospital care we can provide to our community,” Fire District 9 Commissioner Kerry Moore said in a news release. “Having access to a LIFEPAK device on our aid truck means we’re better equipped to respond to critical emergencies where every second counts.”

Fire District 9 is a volunteer fire department serving the Mineral community with fire protection, emergency medical response and community education to support the health and safety of local residents.
