Junior Callie Mickelson pieced together the best game of her season, finding the back of the net four times to help the Tenino High School girls soccer team shutout Elma 7-0 on Tuesday night at home in a Class 1A Evergreen League match.

Now at 11 goals on the season, Mickelson scored in the 10th, 15th, 70th and 75th minutes. Her two first half tallies were assisted by Kyla Watson and Tamara Snodderly.

“We knew the best is still yet to come,” Beavers co-head coach Dave Montgomery said. “(She’s taking) stuff from training and taking it to game scenarios. She’s playing with a different tenacity.”

Maria Summer capped a three-goal first half in the 38th minute and Watson buried a free kick in the 51st minute and added her second goal of the night in the 64th minute.

“For the current girls, it is their first time beating Elma,” co-head coach Trevor Fetbrandt said. “We have set a new standard in our program and they’re playing with the energy they always bring.”

Tenino (6-2-2, 1-1 Evergreen League) will continue its home stand on Thursday against Hoquiam.
