Kiley McMahon put her best foot forward on Friday, leading Black Hills with 26 points in a 50-35 victory over Hudson’s Bay in a 2A District 4 quarterfinal.

McMahon hit six threes to lead the Wolves, while Tyler Venable added two long balls and tallied 14 points.

The two teams were tied at 25 at halftime, but the Black Hills (18-3, 10-2 2A EvCo) defense shut down the Eagles in the second half, allowing just three points in the third and seven in the fourth.

Outside of McMahon and Venable, the Wolves didn’t light up the scoreboard, but they were still able to double their score in the second half, which was enough to come away with a comfortable playoff victory.

Carmen Williams led the team with 12 rebounds, while Claire Johnson added nine rebounds and dished out four assists. Venable added four assists as well, and her and McMahon also came away with three steals.

Next up for the Wolves is a district semifinal against Columbia River, which will be played on Monday at Mark Morris in Longview. A win would clinch a state berth and a spot in the district title game.
