McKenna Mathews, of Glenoma, Crowned Morton Loggers’ Jubilee Queen

On Thursday night, McKenna Mathews, a senior at White Pass High School who lives in Glenoma, was crowned this year’s Morton Loggers’ Jubilee Queen.

Her sponsors are Mountain Goat Coffee in Packwood and Hampton Lumber Mills.

The Jubilee Queen spends the year as a representative for Morton and its rich history as a logging town. She will be featured in the Loggers’ Jubilee parade at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday morning alongside Miss Lewis County.

The other contestants in this year’s Jubilee Court were Chloe Kelly, of Glenoma, Madison Clevenger, of Morton, and Kaia Harvey, of Randle.

Below are the Saturday and Sunday schedules for the Morton Loggers’ Jubilee.

 

Saturday, Aug. 13

• 7 to 11 a.m. — Loggers’ Breakfast at the Morton Moose Lodge

• 8 a.m. — 10k Run at Morton High School

Registration opens at 7 a.m.

• 11 a.m. — Jubilee Championship Bed Races on Main Street

• 11:30 a.m. — Jubilee Grand Parade on Main Street

The theme for the parade is “An Interesting Past, A Promising Future”



• 2 p.m. — Jubilee Logging Show at the arena

gates open at 12:30 p.m. Pets are not allowed in the arena

• 7 p.m. — “The Pony Expresso” plays at Roxy Theater

• 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. — Jubilee Saturday Night Dance
