Market Street Ace Hardware is preparing to celebrate the grand opening of its highly anticipated new greenhouse and recent interior upgrades with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce.

The event will be held Saturday, May 3, at 771 S. Market Blvd. in Chehalis. The ribbon-cutting begins at 11 a.m., launching a day of grand opening festivities that continue until 3 p.m.

After a lengthy permitting and approval process, Market Street Ace Hardware now has a brand new greenhouse at the store that houses all sorts of products for lawns, gardens, patios or barbecue needs. The greenhouse will have a large garden section with everything from fruits and vegetables to perennial trees and shrubs for landscaping, as well as outdoor statues and lawn furniture.

The new greenhouse and the remodel of the store owes much of its success to the Ace Hardware employees.

“It was a really big accomplishment. The store crew, they’re super sweet,” said social media and marketing manager Brenda Klawitter. “They’re your typical hometown hardware crew. They know all their customers, they’re all local and they’re super proud of the remodel and greenhouse. They really built it and DIYed it. They did a lot of the work. They were scraping the floor, they were moving the fixtures, so they’re all really proud to have this big debut.”

In addition to the new greenhouse, the inside of the store has had some impressive upgrades as well. Market Street Ace Hardware is now a licensed and certified Stihl shop with a brand new Stihl outdoor power tool section. The paint section and key hub have also been upgraded, offering replacements for almost any key fob on the market. Additionally, the store rescreens windows and doors.

“The grand opening and ribbon-cutting event will be a fun opportunity to see the new greenhouse and renovations and connect with the community,” the chamber stated in a news release. “There will be free hot dogs and beverages provided and a fun make and take craft for kids to do. There will be local vendors and raffle prizes given away all day, as well as special discounts on gardening items and other products. Live 95 will also be doing a live remote broadcast for the grand opening and raffling off a car.”

The Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce hosts ribbon-cutting ceremonies for local businesses that are expanding, rebranding or celebrating significant milestones. The ceremonies are available for both members and non-members of the Chamber.
