A semi-truck trailer rolled and struck the guardrail on U.S. Highway 12 in Lewis County Monday, Oct. 20, according to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol.
The driver of the truck, Guillermo S. Rodriguez, 59, of Grandview, was transported to Arbor Health Morton Hospital with undisclosed injuries. He was wearing a seat belt.
According to the state patrol, the semi-truck was traveling west on U.S. Highway 12 near milepost 139 — close to the junction at state Route 123 — when the truck’s brakes failed, “causing it to lose control.”
The vehicle rolled before colliding with the guardrail at about 11:24 a.m.
Rodriguez was cited for second-degree negligent driving. The cause of the accident was listed as “speeds too fast.”
No drugs or alcohol were involved in the incident.
