A 68-year-old man died Wednesday in a paraglider crash in the 16000 block of Andal Road northwest of Big Lake.
According to a news release from the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the area about 1:14 p.m. to a report of a paraglider crash.
Deputies arrived on scene and located the man, who had crashed shortly after takeoff.
Emergency medical personnel responded, but the man died from his injuries.
There were no indications of drug or alcohol involvement, stated the release, and the man was certified to operate a paraglider.
The National Transportation Safety Board has been notified, and will be conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
