A man accused of assaulting his girlfriend, breaking her phone and destroying other property inside her Centralia home in July was arrested Monday on a $25,000 warrant.
A judge ruled Tuesday to lower bail for the defendant, identified as Antonio Ramirez, 24, of Olympia, to $10,000.
Ramirez was charged Sept. 17, 2024, in Lewis County Superior Court with one count each of second-degree malicious mischief, domestic violence; fourth-degree assault, domestic violence; and interfering with domestic violence reporting.
He is accused of waking up his girlfriend at her residence in the 1900 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue the night of July 5, 2024, by screaming at her, accusing her of cheating and taking her phone, according to court documents.
The victim reportedly followed Ramirez to another area of the residence and tried to retrieve her phone.
“The two struggled and (the victim) received the injury to her lower lip,” the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office states in charging documents, adding that the victim “could not recall a specific act that caused the injury to her lip but believed Antonio caused it.”
Ramirez allegedly threw the victim’s phone onto the ground several times, breaking the phone into two pieces.
He also allegedly damaged other items in the residence, including shattering her TV screen by punching it and breaking a PlayStation 4 controller.
The total estimated cost of the damage is about $859.99, according to court documents.
The victim reported that she had to leave her home to call 911 because her phone had been destroyed.
Lewis County Superior Court issued a $25,000 warrant for Ramirez’s arrest on Sept. 17, 2024.
He was booked into the Lewis County Jail on that warrant at approximately 10:20 a.m. on May 12, according to jail records.
Arraignment is scheduled for Thursday, May 22.
