A man accused of breaking into a family member’s Centralia home and stealing a knife on Monday has been arrested.

Mark Allen Silva, 44, of Chehalis, was booked into the Lewis County Jail at approximately 3:20 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, and was charged Wednesday, May 28, in Lewis County Superior Court with one count each of residential burglary, domestic violence, and possession of a controlled substance.

Bail is set at $50,000. Arraignment is scheduled for Thursday, June 5.

Silva allegedly broke into a home in the 1000 block of Roosevelt Avenue on May 26, “grabbed a knife and left,” according to court documents. He allegedly left a glass pipe containing suspected meth behind at the residence.

An adult male occupant of the home was reportedly “able to catch up to Mark and attempted to get the knife back, but Mark claimed he no longer had it,” according to court documents.

Silva was allegedly at the home, which is occupied by his sister and her family, on May 25 and took food without permission. At the time, the family told him to leave and to not return to the house, according to court documents.

His family reportedly told responding law enforcement personnel that Silva was “recently released from prison, has some mental health issues, and is dangerous.”

Court documents confirm that Silva was released from state Department of Corrections custody on April 11 after he completed a residential drug offender sentencing alternative (DOSA) program. The sentence stems from a first-degree reckless burning charge he was convicted on in Lewis County Superior Court in May 2024.

In that case, Silva lit two motorcycles and a passenger car on fire in Centralia on Oct. 4, 2023.
