A Hit 5 lottery ticket sold in Olympia won the $420,000 jackpot, an official said.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Food Mart at 3200 Pacific Ave. SE in Olympia, a spokesperson for Washington’s Lottery told The Olympian in an email.
The store gets a $4,200 bonus for selling the ticket, the official said.
The ticket hit all five winning numbers in the drawing on Monday, Oct. 13. What is Hit 5?
Hit 5 is a jackpot game that costs $1 per play.
“Players pick five numbers between 1 and 42. Alternatively, players may use Quick Pick by letting the computer select their numbers,” the lottery official said.
If a player matches all five numbers, they take home the cashpot, which starts out at $100,000 and grows until it’s claimed, according to Washington’s Lottery’s website.
The odds of winning the Hit 5 cashpot are 1 in 851,000, per the website.
Lesser prizes range from a free ticket to $150.
The next Hit 5 drawing is 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
