A hiker who went missing Saturday with her dog in Mount Hood National Forest was found uninjured the following morning, officials said.
Patricia Maxine Wolff, 52, of Sandy, was camping with family near Middle Rock Lake Saturday when she decided to explore Upper Rock Lake with the family’s Doberman pinscher, a news release from the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said.
Her husband reported her missing around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, the release said.
The sheriff’s office coordinated the search, tapping Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue volunteers, Sheriff’s Office Drone Team members, Mountain Wave Communications, and PNW Search and Rescue for help.
Searchers worked through the night and continued the search Sunday as a Life Flight helicopter and the Sheriff’s Office fixed-wing Cessna 182 aircraft equipped with thermal imaging cameras joined the operation, officials said.
Shortly after 10:30 a.m., a satellite text message to 911 helped the airplane locate both Wolff and the dog, the release said. Ground search crews made it to her shortly after 11 a.m. and reunited her with her family around 2:30 p.m.
