Loggers pull away in second half in win over Ravens

It was just a three-point game at halftime in Onalaska and Raymond-South Bend’s matchup on Saturday night, but the Loggers dominated in the second half and pulled away for a convincing 84-58 victory.

It was back-and-forth throughout the first half, and Onalaska led by just three at the break.

In the second half, Onalaska assistant coach Danny Dalsted “challenged the guys to play with a little more pride,” according to coach Fred Sturza.

“The guys, led by Noland Brady, turned it on,” Sturza said.

Brady scored 25 points in the second half to help the Loggers outscore the Ravens 53-30 in the final two quarters. Brady finished with 35, more than double any other player on the floor.

Maddox McKinley scored 17 points, while Austin Sturza scored nine. Ethan Thayer added eight, both Brodey Triana and Haze Hamrick collected six, and Gage Stoner rounded out the scorebook with three.

“Every player tonight that stepped on the court played selflessly,” Fred Sturza said. “And we really needed that after tough games against Toledo and Adna.”

Onalaska (9-9, 8-7 C2BL) will be at home again on Wednesday to host Mossyrock.
