Four players poured in double figures and most of the damage came from inside the 3-point line, fueling the Onalaska High School boys basketball team to a 67-50 win over Morton-White Pass on Thursday night at home.
A 25-point outburst in the first eight minutes allowed the Loggers (7-8, 5-6 C2BL) to lead for much of the night. Their defense held MWP to just one field goal in the final frame and Judah Kelly to just four points in the quarter.
“The coaching staff challenged the guys to keep MWP under 50 points and did a great job closing out the game,” Onalaska head coach Fred Sturza said. “Our focus the rest of the season is playing with that intensity for four quarters.”
Blaze Underhill paced the Loggers with 20 points while Cooper Lawrence added 13, Ethan Thayer had 12 and Maddox McKinley chipped in 10. Kelly was the lone MWP (4-10, 3-8) player in double digits with 24 points.
Onalaska will host Winlock while MWP takes on Mossyrock, both league games on Saturday night.
