While the Onalaska volleyball team swept Wahkiakum on Thursday 25-19, 26-24, 26-24, the final result was anything but a given early in each set.

Cathlamet proved to be a tough place to play, as the Loggers (5-3, 1-0 C2BL) went down 10-3 in the first set, 13-5 in the second, and 13-4 in the third before storming back to come away with a victory.

“The girls pulled it together and got the job done,” coach Susan Gordon said. “Sometimes you just have to take the ugly wins and move on.”

Leading the comeback was Emalie Jacoby, who notched a triple-double with 22 kills, 20 digs and 10 assists.

Braelyn Babb tallied 15 assists and five kills, while Capri McGraw was next in line defensively with 12 digs. Babb and McGraw also had two aces each.

Halle Henricksen had nine digs and Karsyn Koenig recorded two kills.

The Loggers return home Tuesday, when they’ll host Toutle Lake.
