The Onalaska volleyball team took its second sweep in a row Thursday, beating Winlock 25-17, 25-13, 25-18.

“The girls played solid tonight,” Onalaska coach Susan Gordon said. “We need to come out a little stronger in each set. We have a tendency to take a couple points to get going.”

Emalie Jacoby put down a quadruple-double in the stat book for the Loggers (4-2) with 22 kills, 15 digs, 10 assists and 10 aces. Halle Henrickson added six aces and 10 digs, while Capri McGraw led the back row with 17 digs.

For Winlock, Kindyl Kelly led the way with 11 kills and also had 23 digs, and Charlee Connelly had 49 digs. But the Cardinals (4-1) had trouble getting out of their own way at the service line.

“We just couldn’t get any momentum going, really struggled with our serving,” Winlock coach Terri Dalsted said. “That plays a huge role in the momentum of the game.”

Brianna Ochoa gave the Cardinals a bit of consistency, and freshman Natalie Dupree came off the bench to pitch in, according to Dalsted.

Winlock will play Toledo on Tuesday in a Battle of the Cowlitz, while Onalaska will head east to play Morton-White Pass.
