The Onalaska boys basketball team couldn't overcome a slow start, as the Loggers fell to Raymond 62-49 on Saturday.

The Seagulls came out strong, scoring 21 points in the first half to open up a double-digit lead, one they extended to 16 before half.

The Loggers (3-12, 1-9 C2BL) played better in the second half, outscoring the Seagulls 28-25, but it wasn’t enough to get within striking distance.

Ethan Thayer led Onalaska with 13 points, Blaze Underhill scored 11, and Nolan Brady and Nick Rushton logged six each.

The Loggers are tied with Morton-White Pass one game back of Kalam for the final district spot. They’ll have the chance to jump the Timberwolves on Monday when they head to Morton.
