Lewis County Sheriff’s Office investigating death of man near Pe Ell

The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a man found on Lech Road near Pe Ell Tuesday afternoon, according to a news release. 

The sheriff’s office said a neighbor discovered the man in the roadway. 

According to the release, issued at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, deputies and aid personnel responded to the report of an unresponsive man in the 100 block of Lech Road at about 3:45 p.m. Medics determined the man was dead and law enforcement assumed control of the investigation.  

The department said an autopsy has been scheduled. The Lewis County Coroner's Office will release information about the man’s identity and cause and manner of death. 

“Based on evidence discovered during the initial investigation, it is not believed there is any danger to the public,” the sheriff’s office said.



The sheriff’s office said the case was active and did not disclose any further information.
