The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office has opened an investigation after a body was found hanging from a tree in the woods near Doty-Dryad Cemetery on Saturday.
A caller reported the body just after 5:55 a.m. on March 18, stating they saw a truck in the woods then saw a body hanging nearby, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
The case was still under investigation as of Monday morning.
The decedent has not been identified by the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
No additional information was made available by the sheriff’s office as of Monday afternoon.
