Editor's note: These figures are generated from inspections conducted by the Public Health Division in the Lewis County Health and Social Services Department.

Red violations are those most likely to cause foodborne illness and must be corrected at the time of inspection. Blue violations relate to the overall cleanliness and condition of operation and should be corrected by the next month's inspection.

Any establishment receiving more than 19 red or 50 total points is automatically a Class III high health risk and will be reinspected within 10 days. To be reinstated as a Class I (low health risk), such an establishment must not have any red points for the next two inspections.

An establishment exceeding 35 red points upon reinspection as a Class III is mandated to close. Establishments receiving more than 60 red points or 80 total points display extreme health risk and are mandatorily closed at the time of inspection.

Comments are taken directly from inspection reports which are available at each food establishment and at the Lewis County Public Health Office. For information about these reports, telephone the Health Department at 740-1222.
