The Lewis County Department of Public Works Solid Waste Utility is partnering with GreenSheen, an eco-friendly paint recycling company, to host a free recycling event for paint and related items.
The community recycling event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 1, in the parking lot of the Blue Pavilion at the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds, 1909 S. Gold St., Centralia.
Organizers are asking attendees to pre-register if they plan to bring items to the event so the proper staff and equipment is on hand, though pre-registration is not required. Lewis County residents and business owners can pre-register at https://circular.eco/event/LewisCo.
At the event, there will be a line for customers with appointments and a line for first-come, first-served attendees.
Items that will be accepted at the event include latex paint; oil-based paint; stains and shellacs; lacquers, sealers and varnishes; urethanes and textured coatings; and unlimited 5-gallon or smaller containers.
Items not accepted include aerosol paint, paint thinner, solvents, cleaning agents, drywall mud, roof patch and adhesives.
Those with questions about the event can call 360-740-1451 or email swu@lewiscountywa.gov.
