The Lewis County Board of Commissioners took a moment during its regular business meeting Tuesday, April 22, to honor county employees for their service.
The commissioners recognized landmark anniversaries for every five years an employee has worked for Lewis County. During the event, county employees packed into the commissioners hearing room to celebrate with their colleagues.
“My appreciation to HR and county manager (Ryan) Barrett for getting folks enthused and coming over for these awards,” Commissioner Scott Brummer said. “We very much appreciate being able to recognize folks for their outstanding service to the people of Lewis County.”
One group was particularly lively, erupting into cheers as their colleague, Doyle Sanford, was called to the front of the room for recognition. Sanford works with the Lewis County Community Development Department as a building official, fire marshal and floodplain manager. He was recognized for 20 years of service.
In total, the county recognized 18 employees whose time with the county ranges from five years to 25 years.
