Lewis County Model Railroad Club to hold annual spring train show and swap meet

Model train collectors of all ages are invited to the Lewis County Model Railroad Club’s annual spring train show and swap meet at the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds this weekend.

It will be held inside the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds’ Blue Pavillion on Saturday, April 5, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, April 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“There’s plenty of free parking,” Lewis County Historical Museum Executive Director Jason Mattson told The Chronicle. “It’s $5 for admission, and children 10 and under get in free.”

All vendor spaces are sold out, so, “it will be a packed house,” he added.

Whether you’re a diehard model train enthusiast looking to customize one of your engines, a historical collector looking for authentic railroad antiques including lanterns, or just someone curious about the hobby, the train show and swap meet will cater to you.

“This benefits both the Lewis County Historical Museum and the train club,” Mattson said.

The Southwest Washington Fairgrounds are located at 1909 S. Gold St. between the Twin Cities.
